Nakisha Chaney is a civil rights and employment litigator at NachtLaw P.C. Her practice includes human trafficking, student and employee discrimination and harassment, workplace bullying, wage and hour violations, and retaliation.

Ms. Chaney graduated from Oberlin College, Phi Beta Kappa and with high honors. In 2001, she graduated from the University of Michigan Law School, where she was a member of the Journal of Gender and Law. Since graduating, Ms. Chaney clerked at the Michigan Supreme Court and worked as a commercial litigator at Dickinson Wright PLLC, with a practice in contract, products liability and antitrust class action defense. In 2012, Ms. Chaney joined NachtLaw, where she practices employment and civil rights law. Ms. Chaney has trained employees on workplace rights and sexual harassment law, as well as published and presented on a number of topics including civil litigation, human trafficking and employee rights and remedies. She served as a faculty member at ICLE’s 39th Labor and Employment Law Institute on the issue of workplace bullying and is a member of the National Black Lawyers Top 100.

Ms. Chaney is admitted to practice  in Michigan and before the federal Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. Supreme Court. She also serves on the State Bar of Michigan’s District Character and Fitness Committee.
