Biography

Alysa J. Wiggins was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. In 2021, she graduated from Michigan State University James Madison College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in social relations and policy. In 2024, she graduated from Wayne State University Law School with a Juris Doctor degree.

While in law school, Ms. Wiggins took an interest in business, labor, and employment law. To further her interests, Ms. Wiggins worked as a summer law clerk at DTE Energy Corporation’s Office of the General Counsel and a winter legal intern for Region 7 of the National Labor Relations Board. She also succeeded in multiple transactional law competitions, including the Taft Transactional Law Competition and the Wayne Law NFL Contract Negotiation Competition. A skilled legal writer, Ms. Wiggins also served as an Article Editor for Wayne Law’s Journal of Business Law. Additionally, two of Ms. Wiggins’ articles were selected for publication while she was a law student, one of which analyzes the employee misclassification of Twitch streamers. Because of her commitment to labor and employment law, she was selected as a 28th Annual Bernard Gottfried Memorial Labor Law Symposium Scholar.

Ms. Wiggins is also committed to giving back to the community. She has volunteered at multiple expungement fairs and legal clinics. In May 2024, she was awarded the Wayne Law Pro Bono Warrior Award for completing over 50 hours of pro bono work.
